Job Description
An established foreign food manufacturer has expanded its business to the United States and is currently looking for a Sanitation Clerk to join the sanitation team. The position will be responsible for washing down all machinery on the production floor ready for pre-operational inspection. This incumbent will abide by GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP program, safety protocols to perform the job.
Responsibilities:
Follow SSOPs to operate required equipment including chemical equipment, power wash, etc.
Disassemble, clean, and sanitize various machines and parts
Sweep and mop floors after washdown
Assemble the machines and parts in a proper way for production
Equip yourself with all required PPEs when performing the job
Participate in health and safety training and monthly meeting to avoid violations on food cross contamination and workplace safety
Address any questions and concerns on food safety and workplace safety with QA management for prompt resolution
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Minimum 6 months of experience in sanitation in a fast paced food manufacturing environment
Ability to work in a diverse team environment
Ability to do basic mathematical calculation
Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends as needed
Physical requirement including frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 100 lbs; For instances when employee is required to lift more than 50 lbs and 100 lbs they must work in teams of two or use the proper equipment and tools for the job/task at hand. Ability to walk and stand for at least 2 hours or more at a time; ability to bend, stoop, twist, use arms, wrist and hands; ability to occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights and climb steps; exposure to loud noise, dust, chemicals, etc.
