  • Responsibilities

    Position Purpose: The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for managing all staff activities related to cleaning and sanitizing the plant and facility for his/her assigned areas. This involves leading, directing, and organizing hourly sanitation employees in the cleaning of equipment and facility to guarantee the production of food-safe products, and verifying that each crew has met the 8 steps of sanitation prior to calling for QA verification. Summary of Responsibilities: • This position supervises department personnel and operations to ensure sanitation standards are maintained in accordance with Company policies and regulatory agency requirements • Ensure that all equipment is thoroughly cleaned by the 8 steps of sanitation and is ready for QA PreOp inspection. • Ensure that all sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP) are followed Position Requirements: • Experience in managing diverse teams in a complex system • Experience with managing staff regulated by the food industry GMP's • Experience with food safety systems (HACCP, USDA, FDA, 3rd party audits) • Experience with food sanitation systems (8-step sanitation, CIP/COP systems, PreOp inspection) • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills • Prior experience with chemical safety/hazards Position CompetenciesA hands-on management style with employees and teammatesAbility to diagnose problems and develop corrective actionsAbility to train employees in best practices Responsibilities: Key Specific Responsibilities: • Actively manage the workflow of all Sanitation staff on the floor during each sanitation shift • Responsible for executing all company safety and chemical safety training • Train employees in the proper handling of chemicals • Meet First Time Quality Goals as measured by ATP swabs and QA inspection • Meet productivity goals, including labor efficiency measurements, chemical usage goals, and other measurements as determined by the company • Develop new and improved methods for cleaning the plant while maintaining all sanitary standards • Evaluate employee performance and identify corrective actions needed for improvement • Evaluate the sanitary design of current equipment and equipment layout, and work with Maintenance, Production, and QA to make sanitary design improvements to equipment and equipment layout • Work with the QA Supervisor to ensure compliance with SSOP’s • Identify opportunities for improvement and work cooperatively with Sanitation leadership to solve Qualifications: Must have: • Prior experience managing and leading a group of (up to 40) employees • Prior industry-related cleaning experience • This is your PRIMARY job (not a secondary position or project), and committed to leading our 3rd Shift Sanitation Team Nice to have: • Direct food sanitation experience • Credentials (HACCP, PCQI, SQF Practitioner, Better Process School, etc.) • Tenured Sanitation Manager role
