    Job Description

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Must have at least two year experience in accounting or finance with at least one year in Healthcare environment

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This position provides support with accounting functions to ensure the accurate and timely management of Sansum Santa Barbara Medical Clinic, INC's financial operations in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the organization.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all of the responsibilities assigned.)

    1. Prepare and process employee payrolls: process information into payroll system, timesheet processing, submit payroll, and distribute reports.
    2. Manage, review and approve CME and business expense reports for INC employee through electronic system (Concur) including, but not limited to, review of documentation, follow up questions, training of staff, tracking balances used and available, reconciling Concur with Quickbooks and bank accounts.
    3. Review, enter and process all accounts payable invoices and check requests, including obtaining and maintaining all vendor documentation and filing.
    4. Prepare and mail all Accounts Receivable invoicing
    5. Review reconciliation of monthly bank statements to general ledger
    6. Complete and process verifications of employment for all INC staff
    7. Train INC new employee hires on timesheets, Concur, and ipay. Ensure proper documentation completed by employee for payroll, CME and business expense benefits
    8. INC Key Staff employees: prepare and process biweekly payroll, process information into payroll system, timesheet processing, submit payroll, and distribute reports
    9. Preparation of Physician compensation including verification of cash collections, prepare reports for new patient visits, key staff visits and physician visits, assist with RVU calculations for Occupational Medicine and OB/GYN, complete all physician compensation reports for draws, RVU's, and annual collection of MD compensation, prepare and calculate monthly hospital call compensation
    10. Prepare and distribute quarterly Profit Sharing Contribution communications to INC employees
    11. Submit and manage documentation of all necessary forms to One America (CNB) for the profit sharing plan
    12. Prepare reports for annual audit
    13. Works as a team player supporting a variety of staff.
    14. Displays a caring and responsive attitude and conducts all activities respecting patient, family and employee rights and expectations.
    15. Demonstrates sound cost containment techniques.
    16. Adheres to established safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    17. Maintains and evaluates own clinical expertise and practice. Recognizes legal and policy limits of individual practice.
    18. Adheres to all policies and procedures.
    19. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
    20. Completes annual performance and competency evaluation process with management and participates in goal setting, performance improvement and educational training as needed.
    21. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
    22. Adheres to HIPAA regulations.
    23. Exercises discretion and maintains high level of confidentiality.
    24. Performs related work and special projects as required.

    KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS: Knowledge of accounting systems and procedures. Knowledge of A/P and G/L spreadsheets and applications. Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness. Ability to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, other members of the healthcare team, etc. Ability to adapt to varied, age-specific and/or specialized groups. Ability to understand use, function, interpret, document, and keep records. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
