    Job Description

    SBIR is currently recruiting a Contracts Manager. This position administers all contracts received from customers, and negotiates all legal agreements.

    Santa Barbara Infrared (SBIR) designs and manufactures the most technologically advanced infrared and electro-optical test instrumentation available. SBIR's broad line of innovative products support testing of military and commercial sensor systems and are used worldwide in laboratory, production, depot and field test applications.  

    SBIR's focus is on providing well engineered, cost effective hardware and software solutions to the E-O community. Our extensive design capabilities cover the spectrum of infrared, laser, visible and dynamic scene projection applications. SBIR's proven systems engineering expertise combined with a practical, design-for-manufacturing approach results in production and custom instrumentation for the most discerning customers.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Contracts Manager

    • Contract management and administration.
    • Experience with Government Contracts.
    • Reviews customers’ terms and conditions for acceptability/compliance.
    • Negotiates, prepares, executes, administers, extends, terminated and renegotiates contracts.
    • Negotiates, prepares, executes, administers legal agreements.
    • Export Compliance support.
    • Program Management support with an emphasis on contract deliverables and schedule.
    • Executes and maintain current certifications required for commercial and government quotes and contracts.
    • Administers and recommends credit approvals for customers.
    • Evaluates or monitors contracts and customers to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts and compliance to contractual obligations.
    • Generates reports for delivery performance histories.
    • Administers small business plans and reporting.
    • Provides Visual and VTA support for manufacturing, customer service and time reporting.
    • Ability to work full time.

    REQUIREMENTS – Contracts Manager

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Thorough knowledge of contracts and federal regulations.

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.  Ability to write agreements, reports, business correspondence and procedures.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

    Due to US Export Control Regulations compliance, eligible candidates MUST be a US citizen, permanent resident or a person who has been granted asylum; proper documentation is required.
