    This is a Regular, Part Time position. 8:00 am until done counting/preparing the deposit, end around noon. Saturday & Sunday and the occasional weekday to cover for the FT teller, if able.

    SUMMARY:

    Under general direction of the Administrative Associate, the Teller counts, tracks, and reconciles daily cash receipts and maintains daily banks.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

    Prepares daily banks for each open point of sale location.

    Counts cash receipts from previous day.

    Reconciles cash with daily reports from each point of sale station.

    Prepares daily cash receipt report.

    Investigates and reports on cash discrepancies.

    Adheres to the Zoo’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Policy Manual.

    Applies and exemplifies “green” (sustainable) practices whenever possible.

    Attends bi-monthly all-employee meeting.

    SECONDARY DUTIES:

    Assists with other Administrative and Accounting Department functions as assigned.

    Participates in special team assignments as assigned.

    Transfer Credit Card transactions when required.

    Guest Relations:

    Greets every guest with a smile.

    Thanks guests for supporting and visiting the Zoo.

    Answers phone calls, voice mails, and e-mails promptly.

    Insures the Zoo’s presentation standards for cleanliness and maintenance are met by keeping work area clean, picking up trash, and reporting unsafe or unsightly conditions.

    Associates with guests to share information and assist.

    Responds to all guest inquiries, complaints, and comments according to Zoo guest relations procedures.

    Maintains a clean neat appearance and adheres to the Zoo’s uniform dress code.

    Takes responsibility to stay informed about happenings at the Zoo such as reading employee communications and attending meetings.

    Reflects the qualities outlined in the Guest Relations Statement and the Employee Pledge.

    Sanitation and Social Distancing Monitoring

    Adheres to all Zoo Covid-19 safety protocols established by Santa Barbara Zoo

    Wears all appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

    Successfully performs all sanitation procedures for areas accessed by guests and staff following protocols established by Santa Barbara Zoo

    Practices social distancing guidelines and assist with monitoring guest to meet guidelines established by the Santa Barbara County Health Department

    Remains calm, polite, and professional when:

    Discussing mandated safety protocols

    Asking guests to adhere to Santa Barbara County Health Department guidelines to maintain the health and safety of our guests, staff, and animals

    Education and Experience:

    High School diploma or equivalent.

    License, Certification, or Preferred Qualifications:

    Valid driver’s license with good driving record is desirable.

    Successful completion of a Department of Justice background check.

    Fluency in English and Spanish language is preferred

    Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use tools.

    Ability to lift at least 30 pounds in course of normal duties.

    Involves working out-of-doors in all weather conditions.

    Personal Computer and software (CounterPoint POS, Great Plains Accounting, Word, Filemaker Pro, Excel, Outlook)

    Two-way Radio

    Standard office equipment; telephone, copier, facsimile machine, calculator, and others as required.

    Compensation: $15.00 - $17.00 DOE
