    Job Description

    This temporary (approximately 4-month) contract position is responsible for supporting Santen’s Legal Department’s contracting support function during the offline transition period of Santen’s contracts management system (CMS) to a global system. Duties include organization and oversight of all in-flight agreements outside of the CMS through excel spreadsheet or other means, tracking of pending agreements, follow up regarding status, liaising between the Contracts Managers, Business, Finance, Procurement, and other internal functions as needed, drafting and review of overflow contracts, support of the upload of all contracts processed during the migration to the new system, and other special projects as requested by the Director of Legal and Contracts Counsel. This position reports to the Contracts Counsel and will sit on the Contracts team.

    • Work in close collaboration with the Contracts Counsel, Legal, Business, Finance and Procurement teams to ensure timely tracking and follow-through of offline contract processing and approval
    • Review and screen all incoming requests received during the transition period (via email) for accuracy and completeness before reassignment to the Contracts Managers
    • Monitor the contract approval process to enforce Santen’s global and local SOPs, policies, and regulations
    • Communicate contract status updates to the Contracts, Business and other internal teams as needed
    • Support the upload of all contracts processed during the offline period to the new CMS after go-live
    • Perform quality check of contract migration to ensure accurate and complete transition
    • Support processing overflow agreements as needed to assist the Contracts team
    • Perform special projects as needed as assigned by management

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 3-4 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
    • Demonstrated experience in commercial contract tracking, drafting and negotiation and compliance review
    • Strong ability to work collaboratively and efficiently with others in a legal department as well as internal client functions
    • Demonstrated client service orientation:  able to recognize and respond quickly to urgent situations, with sound judgement in escalating critical matters as appropriate
    • High attention to detail, strong work ethic, can take initiative, and excellent time management, organizational and follow-through skills
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including presentation capabilities
