SAP Warehouse Management (WM/EWM) Consultant Location: Manteca, CA Work Arrangement: On-site, Monday–Friday Employment Type: long term contract
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on functional expertise in SAP WM and/or SAP EWM across warehouse and logistics processes.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective SAP WM/EWM solutions.
Configure and support warehouse management processes, including:
Inbound and outbound processing
Goods receipt and goods issue
Putaway and picking
Stock transfers and inventory movements
Warehouse task/order management
Physical inventory
Handling Units (HU)
Warehouse staging and replenishment
Work with business users to identify process improvements and recommend SAP-based solutions.
Support integration between SAP WM/EWM and other SAP modules, particularly MM, SD, and Inventory Management.
Participate in testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and defect resolution.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution and root-cause analysis.
Prepare functional specifications and work with ABAP/technical teams where custom development or enhancements are required.
Support data migration, cutover, go-live, and post-production stabilization activities as needed.
Develop and maintain functional documentation, process flows, configuration documentation, and user training materials.
Collaborate with onsite business teams and offshore/onshore technical resources to ensure successful delivery.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on SAP WM and/or EWM experience.
Strong understanding of warehouse and inventory management business processes.
Experience with SAP MM/Inventory Management and integration with WM/EWM.
Experience with SAP configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
Strong understanding of warehouse processes including receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, replenishment, and inventory management.
Ability to work directly with business users and translate business requirements into SAP solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, onsite environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or S/4HANA EWM.
Experience with SAP EWM Private Cloud is a plus.
Experience integrating SAP EWM/WM with MM, SD, PP, or other logistics modules.
Experience with RF/mobile warehouse transactions and warehouse automation is a plus.
Prior experience working in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or supply chain environments is preferred.
SAP certification is a plus.
