    About the role We are seeking a Cook to join the Savory team. Our ideal candidate will anticipate and address the needs of the company and our client partners with a focus on order fulfillment, quality control, presentation and plating, and delivering high-end final products while maintaining a high standard of hygiene and safety in accordance with the Department of Health and Savory standards.

    This role is a key addition to our growing team. Here are some examples of the primary responsibilities of our Cooks:

    Execute daily prep list as prepared by executive and sous chefs

    Maintain an organized and clean workspace: label and stock all ingredients, wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, garbage removal

    Prepare all necessary items for service: measure ingredients and seasonings; wash and chop vegetables as specified; cut meat; etc.

    Undertake basic cooking duties: reduce sauces, parboil food, prepare simple salads, sandwiches, or entrees as required

    Compliance with nutrition and sanitation guidelines

    Other kitchen duties to support the culinary team as assigned

    Your experience should show us the following:

    At least two years experience as a prep or line cook in a restaurant or catering entity

    Knowledge and understanding of health and safety in a kitchen environment

    Skill and manual dexterity with cutting tools and kitchen utensils

    Comfort with different knife cuts

    Ability to function in a high-volume, bulk production environment

    You are a team player with a warm personality and honest values

    Job requirements

    DOH Food Handler’s license preferred

    Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and holidays as required

    Capability to maintain a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods in varying temperature conditions

    Ability to lift up to 50lbs, ability to repeatedly lift up to 25lbs
