Role Description/Responsibilities
The Health and Safety Administrator plays a crucial role in fostering a safety-focused culture at BBK. They spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety program aimed at achieving zero injuries. Responsibilities include executing safety training, identifying and resolving safety hazards, overseeing accident and injury investigations, providing safety program guidance, reducing work-related absences and claims costs, facilitating rehabilitation, and preventing recurrences.
- Lead the establishment and execution of a robust safety program at BBK, prioritizing zero injuries. Create a safety culture where employees prioritize safety and look out for one another. Recommend, develop, and implement procedures, policies, and programs to enhance workplace safety. Deliver effective safety training. Chair an active safety committee at BBK. Develop and oversee a system for swift identification and resolution of safety hazards. Oversee accident, injury, and property damage investigations. Offer safety program guidance to designated safety representatives at US manufacturing sites.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including claim adjusters, managed care systems, medical professionals, management teams, and employees, to minimize work-related absences and claims expenses. Ensure successful rehabilitation following injuries. Assess causes and implement preventative plans. Provide expert advice and guidance on workers' compensation matters. Possess in-depth knowledge of workers' compensation carriers' claims administration systems.
- Maintain and update safety and workers' compensation reporting and record-keeping requirements. Liaise and coordinate with regulatory agencies responsible for safety and workers' compensation. Conduct safety inspections and assist with environmental compliance inspections. Oversee procedures for the reduction and disposal of non-routine hazardous materials. Contribute to and ensure compliance with spill control and countermeasures regulations. Provide support during air and water environmental inspections as necessary.
- Collaborate with BBK management and contracted security teams to develop a safe environment for all individuals entering and leaving the facility. Disseminate relevant information to appropriate team members. Establish and implement security measures to safeguard people and assets, as well as prevent theft. Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies and Practices.
- Work with management teams to finalize the development and execution of the Crisis Management system. Provide advice and direction on crisis management planning.
- Create and deliver the safety component of the new employee orientation program at BBK. Oversee the Contractor Orientation Program.
- Participate in the development of the Personal Development Plan (PDS) and execute the plan to enhance skills and meet job requirements.
- Champion the creation of a safety culture where employees prioritize safety and look out for one another. Lead in a manner consistent with the company's culture. Ensure fair and respectful treatment of employees. Foster a team environment that empowers all employees to exceed customer expectations and make a positive impact.
- Develop necessary policies in support of the Safety Program. Provide input to the HR team during policy development.
- Efficiently manage Safety CAPEX projects at BBK within designated timelines. Provide safety-related project advice for other locations.
- Organize and execute the BBK Health and Wellness Fair, coordinating with vendors and encouraging participation. Assist employees in managing the online Wellness system.
Qualifications/Requirements

- Proficiency in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and related compliance experience

- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
DESIRABLE
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or related field
