We're seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to oversee and drive forward the day to day development of some of our portable consumer electronics products, working with designers, engineers, and global CM / OEM / ODM partners. In this role, you will own the definition, execution, and delivery of an assigned portfolio of hardware development projects. AS A DESIGN-DRIVEN COMPANY, OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE ALWAYS PUTS THE END USER FIRST IN EVERY INTERACTION WITH OUR FINISHED PRODUCTS.
You'll be working with a small company where everyone has an in depth and tangible contribution they can see in the products we build. You'll work with multiple departments between engineering, QA, marketing, partners, and directly with company leadership a team of technologists to help drive great products forward.
This position is full time and offered as a remote position. ALL POSITIONS AT SCANNED INC. ARE REMOTE-FRIENDLY WE'RE ORGANIZATIONALLY "REMOTE FIRST".
TASKS INCLUDE:
- Define, deliver, and manage a portfolio of hardware projects (with related software and firmware components) in various stages of development, providing comprehensive planning, task management, resource coordination, timeline management, and specification development
- Actively contribute to product specifications with clear technical language and visuals alongside our design and engineering teams (including key architecture, component selection, UX, mechanical design, user functions, firmware, and softare)
- Own project task management, resource planning, updates to stakeholders, and manufacturer-facing technical specification structures using project management tools
- Identity and actively manage product/development issues and risks
- Facilitate updates to specifications based on discussions with ODM manufacturing partners
- Manage timelines for development and production runs
- Track rolling changes and facilitate production sample reviews
- Run ongoing work session calls with manufacturing partners, maintaining documentation and communication on active issues
- Track product issues and ongoing product health for shipping products

REQUIREMENTS
- Significant product or program management experience in new product development for consumer electronics products (or another highly relevant industry)
- Significant experience defining, building, and launching electronics products with global CM / OEM / ODM partners
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to reach optimal tradeoffs between user experience, time to market, and cost
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel to factories occasionally, as necessary (once travel is a thing again)
- Note: Schedule flexibility may be necessary to join conference calls with worldwide partners outside your typical workday, depending on your location (1-3 calls per week)
- Bonus qualification: Business/technical level proficiency in Mandarin
- Bonus qualification: Experience developing computer input/output devices and/or IoT products
