Overview of Responsibilities:The eLearning Designer reports to the Director of Learning and Development and will design, develop, produce, and manage instructor-led and asynchronous training for virtual and classroom delivery to corporate and franchise teams. The eLearning Designer will collaborate with a cross-functional team of subject matter experts to define the required learning objectives, determine the optimal learning path, and rapidly develop course materials integrating the appropriate technology options with an understanding of the target audience.
This role will also work closely with the Training Manager to promote team skill development, including multimedia technology, adherence to styles and standards, and applying learning theory to content.
REQUIREMENTS:
At least three years of experience in eLearning Design/Development
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, and other authoring/production tools
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, English, Journalism, or equivalent experience
Ability to coach, mentor, and guide team members in instructional design skills and processes
Experience in performing training needs analysis on complex initiatives
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with minimal direction
Skilled at building rapport through effective interpersonal and written communication
Ability to learn new applications, processes, and technologies quickly
Willingness to travel up to twice per year for company events
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and develop interactive virtual and asynchronous training programs using principles of ADDIE and Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Training Evaluations
Storyboard, develop, produce, update, and evaluate training content
Work with Subject Matter Experts and other leadership to identify and capture learning and technical requirements for the requested curriculum design
Transform complex concepts into simple training materials and on-the-job resources
Apply an innovative mindset to solving learning design problems that arise during the development process
Manage a fast-moving pipeline of content development and validation
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by following up with facilitators and assessing course feedback
Research and recommend educational innovations
