Schaefer Sign Works, located in Indianapolis IN, is seeking an apprentice Sign Maker to join our expanding team. • Experience with Printed and Vinyl Cut Graphics would be a plus but not required. • Sign Making Professional with 2+ Years of Hands on experience would be plus but not required. • Experience utilizing the latest in computer-controlled printers and graphic cutters would be a plus but not required. • Must be self-motivated to learn new technologies, software, and systems. • Detail oriented, works well in a fast-paced team environment and is able to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Self-motivated team player with great interpersonal skills and values delivering continuous product quality excellence. • Self-confident and is not afraid to show their professional ability, creative genius and, most importantly, have fun!

Responsibilities
Sign design and production
Full-time availability (40 hours/week)
Answer phones inquiries as a sign professional
Consult/interface with customers to ensure meeting quality and scope expectations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of manufacturing/production area
Assist in maintaining company signage equipment
Accurately keep track of electronic and paper records related to jobs
Willingness to do outdoor, customer location, and vehicle, as well as "in shop", fabrication and installations.
Comfortable working from ladder or at heights
Must have flexibility to lean over waist-high table and use back and forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to substrate.
Ability to use power tools
Learn new technologies, skills, and techniques to become a better sign making professional
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a professional sign maker – design and production
Background in vinyl creation and application
Large format digital printing
Layout and creative design experience
Expertise in using Adobe Design tool suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Experience with RIP software
Physical ability to layout, manipulate and cut materials on large format worktables
Vehicle wrap installation
Experience with installing dimensional letters, channel letters, or monuments.
Knowledgeable in color management
Driver license
