Tax Accountant Job Summary
Our CPA firm is currently seeking a Tax Accountant with multi-state preparation experience. In this role, you are responsible for preparing and filing personal, corporate, partnership and fiduciary tax returns, along with other client needs such as payroll and sales tax filings. This includes compiling supporting financial statements and documents so that you are prepared to respond to any inquiries from regulatory agencies. Occasional client (local) travel, and assistance with other various special projects at the discretion of the partners. We have a wide variety of clients across a multitude of industries.
TAX ACCOUNTANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and file complex tax returns on behalf of clients
Compile supporting financial statements and documents
Prepare and file payroll and sales tax returns
Assist with federal and state tax audits
Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies
Perform tax research staying up to date on changes
TAX ACCOUNTANT REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
CPA license preferred
Tax preparation experience (5+ years preferred)
Experience with QuickBooks, Lacerte, and Microsoft Excel
