Primary Healthcare Centers is seeking a Scheduler to join our team. This role is responsible for managing incoming calls, scheduling patient appointments, and assisting patients with questions related to their visits. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and able to communicate clearly while working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Position Summary
This position manages phone communications within the scheduling department, including answering calls, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, confirming appointments, and directing calls to the appropriate department. This role plays a key part in ensuring patients receive timely and accurate scheduling support.
This position may have remote work requirements and is subject to all current CMS vaccine mandates.
Key Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls for the scheduling department and assist patients with appointment requests
Schedule patient appointments based on provider availability, urgency, and patient needs
Process appointment cancellations, rescheduling, and updates
Confirm and verify patient information during the scheduling process
Provide patients with appointment details including date, time, location, and preparation instructions
Inform patients of the organization’s narcotic prescription policy when scheduling
Notify patients if sliding scale documentation will need to be updated prior to their appointment
Maintain accurate scheduling records and documentation
Answer patient questions regarding appointments, procedures, and visit preparation
Resolve scheduling conflicts professionally and efficiently
Work collaboratively with medical providers and staff to coordinate patient visits
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or high-volume situations
Strong computer and keyboard proficiency
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
Ability to interpret and follow clinic procedures and guidelines
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, coworkers, and the public
Basic math skills and attention to detail
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Two years of experience in a medical office preferred
Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required
LPN license in the State of Georgia preferred but not required
