Position Overview
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing and optimizing the daily schedule to ensure providers, clinical teams, and patients are scheduled efficiently. This role serves as a central communication hub between patients, providers, and team members, helping maintain productive schedules, minimize downtime, and deliver an excellent patient experience.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities Scheduling & Patient Coordination
Schedule new patient, treatment, hygiene, and specialty appointments according to office guidelines.
Maintain productive provider schedules and maximize chair utilization.
Confirm appointments and communicate with patients regarding schedule changes.
Manage cancellations, no-shows, and same-day openings by actively working unscheduled treatment lists and call lists.
Coordinate specialty appointments and ensure proper scheduling flow between departments.
Assist patients with appointment requests and answer scheduling-related questions.
Monitor future schedules and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and patient access.
Compensation is based on experience and skill level:
$11–$17/hour – Entry-level or developing candidates
Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
Strong scheduling and patient communication skills
Dental and/or orthodontic knowledge
Advanced Dentrix proficiency
Proven ability to manage complex schedules and maintain productivity goals
