Shelton is currently accepting applications for Scholars Tutors interested in joining the Outreach program. The Shelton Scholars program provides support to learning different students who have experienced difficulty in the traditional classroom and who are non-Shelton students.
**Overview:
** Serve as tutor in the Outreach program and demonstrate ability to teach children ages six and above in the areas of reading, spelling, handwriting, auditory, and memory skills. The scholars tutor will use the Sequential English Education (SEE) curriculum. The Shelton Scholars program is available on Saturdays during the school year and during the summer.
**Qualifications:
** High School diploma is required. Ability to tutor children ages six years and older with competency in reading, spelling, and handwriting. Knowledge of educating students with learning differences is preferred. Must have basic computer skills and technology savvy.
**Essential Functions:
** Attendance and punctuality are essential to the successful performance of this job. Because of the interaction with students, it is essential that the person in this position maintains good attendance.
