    ORGANIZATION

    “Helping students reach new heights.” School-Based Behavior Consultation focuses on skill development amp; challenging behavior reduction for student success! SBBC provides ABA therapy amp; behavior support interventions in-school amp; in-home to improve social skills, academics, vocational skills, functional skills, amp; communication. This is accomplished through the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) amp; in collaboration with other specialists, school staff, the students we serve, amp; caregivers.

    Mission: We are a team of professionals and experts in Applied Behavior Analysis who partner with amp; equip individuals with autism spectrum disorder, caregivers, community support staff, and/or school team members to gain the skills needed to reach their full potential.

    Vision: We envision individuals with autism spectrum disorder throughout East Central Indiana gaining access to more inclusive settings and having greater autonomy in life, as a result of SBBC’s service provision.

    SUMMARY

    Responsible for providing skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with autism, serious emotional disabilities and / or other developmental disabilities in the school, home, center, and/or community settings, under the direction of a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). The ABA therapist will collect data on programs, assist with staff training, and assist with assessments as needed.

    WORK DAY

    As a BT, ABA therapy implementation services are required for approximately 30-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.

    PAY

    This position is considered full-time, employed:

    • W-2 position starts at $15 - $18 per hour

    • Includes the following benefits:

      • Major medical, vision, and dental, supplemental insurance, unemployment insurance, workman’s compensation, and social security and medicare taxes
    • PTO - 3.5 hours earned for every 150 hours worked

    • 5 Paid Holidays

    • Retirement - 100% match on the first 3% of compensation + 50% match on the next 2% of compensation

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Provide direct student instruction, and assist staff with implementation, in one-on-one and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment teaching arrangements. Follow prescribed behavior skills acquisition and behavior change protocols. Assist with preparing materials as necessary.

    • Collect, record and summarize data on observable student behavior. Assist with skill acquisition and behavioral assessments. Collect data on all programming.

    • Document interventions, progress data, session notes

    • Assist with staff training of student’s individualized treatment and behavior change protocols, through direct teaching, modeling and fidelity checks.

    • Immediately report to BCBA any student incidents/variances or complaints.

    • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.

    • Communicate with staff regarding student progress as instructed by the BCBA. Collaborate with school teams and attend IEP meetings as necessary.

    • Participate in in-service programs and present in-service programs as assigned.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Accept feedback and ongoing training in a positive and professional manner.

    EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE (BT)

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent required;

    • Two years’ experience working with children with disabilities, including children with Autism and other developmental disabilities

    • Experience in day care and/or school settings, preferred

    LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS (BT)

    • The candidate must complete a 40 hour RBT training program before starting their first day of employment

    • Within 6 weeks of their start date the candidate would earn their Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification, including annual renewal and registration

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education or related field preferred

    • RBT certification preferred

    • 1 year experience implementing ABA in the natural environment

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • CPR and CPI certification

    • Drug screen and criminal background check required for hire

    DIRECT SUPERVISOR

    The BT reports directly to Supervising BCBA.
