Job Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct behavioral support services to children under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT implements individualized behavior intervention plans, collects data on student progress, and supports children in developing communication, social, and academic skills. The RBT works closely with teachers, therapists, and families to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Implement behavior intervention plans designed by the supervising BCBA.
Provide one-on-one behavioral support to children.
Teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors, communication, and social skills.
Collect accurate data on student behaviors and progress.
Assist in managing challenging behaviors using positive behavior support strategies.
Maintain detailed and timely documentation of services.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff.
Participate in training and supervision meetings with the BCBA.
Follow ethical guidelines set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
Qualifications
Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the BACB.
High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related field preferred.
Experience working with children with autism, behavioral challenges, or developmental disabilities preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and supportive when managing challenging behaviors.

Work Environment
School, clinic, or early childhood program
Work directly with children individually or in small groups
May require standing, bending, and assisting students physically when necessary
Supervision
The RBT works under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
