General Summary:
The School-Based Social Worker provides on-site mental health services to students across Baltimore City Public Schools, including individual and group therapy, developmentally appropriate assessments, and participation in the IEP/IFSP process. This role involves close collaboration with families, educators, and school-based teams to support student growth in alignment with educational goals. Services are delivered in compliance with relevant policies and are scheduled during school hours throughout the academic year.
This is a PACE Consulting employee position. The role is part of a subcontracted partnership with a larger organization, where day-to-day responsibilities are coordinated by the partner agency, while employment and administrative support are managed by PACE.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide individual and group therapy services
Perform developmentally appropriate assessments per IEP/IFSP plans
Collaborate with parents, teachers, service coordinators, and IEP team members
Write clear, impactful IEP/IFSP goals and objectives aligned with educational needs and family concerns
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and reporting
Support compliance with IDEA, COMAR, and district policies
Deliver services during school hours and on school days at assigned locations
Qualifications:
Active Maryland LMSW or LCSW-C license (required)
Experience in school-based settings (preferred)
Knowledge of IEP/IFSP processes, special education, and federal/state education laws
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and confidential environment
Professional fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Strong communication and judgment skills, including the ability to interpret and report on student data
High level of computer literacy for documentation, reporting, and email
Commitment to professional conduct, confidentiality, and adherence to data privacy rules
Valid Maryland Driver’s License, if required by school assignment
Job Type: Full-Time (10-Month, W-2 Employee)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7 hours per day (10-month academic schedule)
