School-Based Therapist Supervisor – Arlington Area
Position Type: Full-Time Location: Arlington Area Schools, Jacksonville, FL Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Position Overview
Step-by-Step Behavioral Health Services is seeking a licensed, experienced, and passionate School-Based Therapist Supervisor to provide clinical oversight, leadership, and support to a team of school-based therapists in the Arlington area. This role ensures quality care, compliance, and continued professional development while maintaining a small caseload as needed for clinical support or coverage.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be licensed in the State of Florida as an LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
Experience working in school-based programs and using Electronic Health Records
Possess an active NPI number and a Florida Medicaid provider number (preferred)
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field from an accredited institution
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support a team of school-based mental health therapists
Conduct regular clinical supervision and performance evaluations
Review and approve clinical documentation and treatment plans
Provide case consultation, especially for high-risk or complex cases
Monitor therapist caseloads, productivity, and service delivery
Lead team meetings, trainings, and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Maintain a reduced caseload and provide clinical coverage when needed
Ensure compliance with agency policies, licensing standards, and Medicaid regulations
Address staff concerns, implement coaching plans, and guide professional development
Engage in community outreach as needed
Direct Clinical Duties
Conduct comprehensive assessments using approved tools
Develop and implement individualized, measurable treatment plans
Provide individual, group, and family therapy using trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches
Maintain timely and accurate documentation per agency and regulatory standards
Coordinate care with school staff and external providers
Evaluate client progress and modify treatment plans accordingly
Participate in peer reviews and quality assurance processes
Provide outreach and maintain professional relationships to support referrals
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge:
Mental health systems, trauma-informed care, DSM-5 diagnoses
Counseling theories and methods for diverse populations
Ethics, confidentiality, HIPAA, and Medicaid standards
Effective team leadership and clinical supervision techniques
Skills:
Strong documentation and assessment skills
Advanced clinical judgment and decision-making
Time management, organization, and prioritization
Conflict resolution and problem-solving
Abilities:
Lead, mentor, and motivate clinical staff
Communicate effectively with teams, clients, and school personnel
Recognize issues and implement responsive strategies
Adapt to varying work settings and client needs
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Sedentary position (approx. 60% sitting); occasional lifting under 25 lbs.
Occasional exposure to school and community settings
Moderate noise level
