    South Florida Autism Charter Schools, Inc. (SFACS) seeks an experienced Bookkeeper who will be responsible for all business, finance, and Medicaid/Insurance billing activities at South Florida Autism Charter School. The position oversees the finance operations of the school and provides transactional and analytical support for all related activities. The Bookkeeper generates all the school’s financial reports, manages billing for Medicaid & private insurance companies, and assists in the annual budgeting and audit processes, ensuring that the school meets all state compliance requirements in these areas. The position is part-time, 15 hours per week, and days and hours are flexible. The pay is $25-$30 hours, commensurate with experience. Benefits and paid time off are not included, but the position can grow in the near future to include a full-time schedule, benefits, and paid time off. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable and receivable • Maintains contracts and tenders for all vendors • Collects and processes payments for a variety of school events such as donations, clubs, athletics, and fundraisers according to SFACS policy and best practices • Other duties as assigned by the principal • Assist with Grant preparation and billing as needed • Assist with payroll reports and employee insurance reports for use by Building Hope to post to the general ledger • Enter invoices into the accounts payable system • Preparing spreadsheets for all manual checks issued, showing payee, check number, amount, and purpose to be submitted to Building Hope for posting to the general ledger • Assure that checks written and deposits are made to and from the correct accounts Qualifications: • Possess a minimum AA degree in a related field • Have a minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a school setting • Meticulous attention to detail • Strong time management and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize work • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Operate smoothly and effectively under pressure • Excellent computer skills (Excel, online databases, email, Internet experience) • Knowledge of accounting procedures and best practices • Familiarity with budget preparation and cash flow management • Excellent analytical skills and experience creating reports and presentations Compensation: $25 - $30 hourly
