    FLSA Class: Non-exempt Hourly

    Pay: $18-20/hour

    Reports to: Facilities Manager

    Hours: M-F and SS - Variable Hours (PRN As needed)

    ******GENERAL SUMMARY**

    Under supervision, the School Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting children to and from school and related events. Will be required to transport students from school to a designated location as authorized by appropriate school officials. Position requires the ability to obtain working knowledge of traffic routes between school and designated locations both in and outside of the city of Dallas, Texas.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Valid Texas driver’s license
    • Commercial driver’s license w/ passenger endorsement (P) or school bus (S)
    • Two years of experience
    • Two years of experience working with children preferred
    • Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Safely transporting students to and from school, field trips, and other activities.
    • Maintaining order and discipline among students.
    • Managing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
    • Complying with all traffic laws and regulations at all times.
    • Communicating with school administration and colleagues.
    • Checking for any potential issues and maintaining order during the trip.
    • Reporting disciplinary problems to the school.
    • Must adhere to policy for drivers of company vehicle
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Ability to drive safely and meet safety standards required to maintain active license.
    • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
    • Ability to plan delivery routes.
    • Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
    • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
