School Group Programs Coordinator
Purpose: To facilitate school-based grief groups in line with A Haven’s culture and peer-to-peer model. To administrate the program through onboarding, scheduling and monitoring of school correspondence to ensure high quality service delivery. The School Group Facilitator will report to the Clinical Director.
School Group Facilitator Position- up to15 hours/week in schools throughout Chester County, regular onsite meetings, and daytime administrative duties- must have daytime availability. This position is a nine-month role– mid-August through mid-December and January through May.
Responsibilities and Duties
Facilitate grief groups within school settings at the elementary, middle and high school levels in collaboration with school staff
Deliver curriculum/group plan with fidelity
Provide communication for school staff and families
Support school staff with grief education
Proactively foster relationships with school staff
Monitor group participants for safety and additional support needs
Complete school group documentation
Collaborate with Clinical Director to ensure scheduling of all school groups and subsequent communication with schools
Ensure all school documents including registration, welcome packets, permission forms and group facilitator documents are up to date
Maintain pre/post test data collection
Assimilate all volunteer school group notes into Theranest
Attend and participate in regular staff meetings
Communicate concerns for students to Clinical Director
Uphold A Haven’s mission and values in each role
Assist in community outreach, organizational events, and fundraising efforts
All other duties assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Psychology
3-5 years of clinical experience in mental health or social work
Organized
Excellent and efficient communicator
Prioritizes creative expression
Genuine love of working with children
A strong understanding of child development and family systems related to grief and bereavement
A comprehensive understanding of grief work
Knowledge of school systems and districts
Available transportation
Skilled at observation and assessment
Comfortable with grief
