Cedar Park Med is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN or LPN to provide one-on-one nursing care for a student with complex medical needs. This position is school-based and requires a nurse who is confident in managing feeding, aspiration risk, and seizure monitoring in a supportive and structured environment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:40 PM

Compensation: Competitive; rate based on experience and licensure (RN vs. LPN).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing support to a student during the school day.
• Administer G-tube feedings on schedule (approximately twice daily while in school).
• Perform respiratory therapy as needed prior to feedings to reduce aspiration/vomiting risks.
• Monitor for and respond to aspiration risks during and after feedings.
• Observe, monitor, and respond appropriately to seizure activity.
• Track and document care, feeding schedules, and any medical incidents throughout the day.
• Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications:

• Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Prior experience with pediatric patients and/or students preferred.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:
  • G-tube feeding and management
  • Aspiration precautions and respiratory support
  • Seizure monitoring and response
• Excellent communication and observation skills.
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies and provide care with patience and compassion
