    Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1.5 hours AM + 1.5 hours PM (approx 3 hours daily) Compensation: Competitive hourly rate Employment Type: Part-time, with Temp-to-Permanent option

    About the Role

    We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to escort a student with cerebral palsy to and from school each day. The nurse will ride with the student on a school transportation van driven by an experienced CDL drive and the nurse will ensure safety, comfort, and medical oversight as prescribed by the Student's Health Plan during travel.

    This is an excellent opportunity for some looking to gain exposure in the school nursing field, a retired nurse or a nurse seeking a slower-paced, family-friendly role outside the traditional bedside environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Escort and supervise student during transport to and from school.

    Monitor for safety, positioning, and comfort while riding.

    Provide basic medical support as needed, within scope of licensure.

    Maintain communication with parents, school staff, and transportation personnel.

    Document and report any incidents, changes in condition, or medical concerns.

    Ensure adherence to all safety and infection control protocols.

    Qualifications

    Active NJ LPN or RN license (or Multistate Compact)

    BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required).

    Minimum of 1 year of hospital/acute care experience (required).

    Prior experience caring for individuals with physical disabilities, mobility limitations, or cerebral palsy preferred.

    Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with families, school staff, and transportation personnel.

    Compassionate, patient, and reliable.

    Schedule & Compensation

    Morning Route: ~1.5 hours

    Afternoon Route: ~1.5 hours

    Total: 3 hours daily (additional work possible)

    Monday through Friday, following the school calendar.
