    Job Description

    The Temporary Operations Intern provides hands-on, on-the-ground support to ensure smooth daily operations at KNOS campuses. You’ll jump in where needed across several critical workstreams—family communication and events, food service, student recruitment & enrollment, transportation, attendance, and technology & equipment—so students and teachers can focus on learning.

    The responsibilities and essential functions of the role include:

    General Ops, Family Communication & Events

    • Staff front desk/phones; route questions and log messages.

    • Draft/send family updates (texts, flyers) from templates; maintain contact lists.

    • Event setup/teardown, materials prep, check-in, wayfinding.

    Food Service & Cafeteria Maintenance

    • Support meal service flow, daily counts, and line supervision.

    • Record check deliveries as directed; report issues to vendors/custodial.

    Transportation

    • Assist with arrival/dismissal (car line, bus staging, walker supervision).

    • Update bus rosters and late bus logs; communicate scripted updates.

    Student Attendance

    • Run daily reports; place same-day outreach calls/texts using scripts.

    • Document outcomes and escalate patterns to the attendance lead.

    Technology & Equipment

    • Check in/out devices; track inventory/condition.

    • Triage simple issues (password resets, chargers) and open IT tickets.

    Facilities, Maintenance & Custodial

    • Submit/track work orders; room setups and furniture moves (with safe lifting).

    • Conduct simple cleanliness/safety walk-throughs and report hazards.

    Data Collection & Analysis

    • Enter/update records in spreadsheets/SIS from clear source docs.

    • Produce basic counts/charts from templates; double-check for accuracy.

    Finance, Procurement & Supply Management

    • Collect quotes, prepare order carts, match packing slips to invoices.

    • Re-stock classrooms; update supply inventories; log petty-cash receipts as directed.

    Student Information & Testing

    • Prep testing rooms, seating charts, materials, and device readiness.

    • Staff check-in, timing, and materials return under a certified proctor’s lead.

    Risk Management, Safety & Security

    • Support visitor sign-in/badging; verify IDs per checklist.

    • Help with drills (line sweeps, headcounts) and log incidents to the system.

    Qualifications

    The following are required for the role:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent

    • Proficiency in all Google and MS Office Suite applications, including Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Outlook

    • Successful completion of State and Federal Criminal Background Check: All offers are considered pending until the successful completion of a professional reference check, including your most recent supervisor, as well as a state/federal background check.

    The following are strongly preferred for the role:

    • Prior experience in school operations, camps, hospitality, retail, or events.

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese).

    • Familiarity with student information systems and ticketing platforms.

Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations, including noisy environments such as cafeterias and playgrounds, to more moderate situations such as classrooms or large group professional settings

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

    • Read, analyze, and interpret data (emails, memos, letters, etc.) and maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.

    • Able to sit and work at a desk/computer for extended periods of time and lift/move up to 30 lbs occasionally

    Work Environment:

    • This is a 100 % on‑site position. The duties described above are essential functions that require the employee’s physical presence at the work location; they cannot be performed remotely. Duties are performed in an office environment and may require traveling to other school facilities using employee's personal transportation.

    • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and various digital devices.

    • This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Work Authorization:

    • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

    Additional Information

    • Compensation: $15 and hour

    • Duration: Temporary assignment through December 19th, 2025
