Key Responsibilities
Part Time position.
Health Assessments & Emergency Care: Provide first aid and emergency medical care to students and staff, including administering prescribed medications as per provider orders.
Health Screenings: Conduct routine screenings such as vision, hearing, and scoliosis assessments, and assist in physical examinations for sports and state-mandated grade levels.
Health Records Management: Maintain and update cumulative health records for all students, including immunization data.
Individualized Health Plans: Develop, evaluate, and follow Emergency and Individual Health Care Plans for students with medical issues.
Health Education: Participate in providing educational opportunities for staff, students, and parents on health-related topics.
Collaboration: Communicate with school personnel and parents regarding student health concerns and needs.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to school health care regulations and policies.
Qualifications
Licensure: Possession of a current New York State License as a Registered Nurse is required.
Experience: At least one year of experience as a School Nurse or Registered Nurse.
Certifications: Current AED/CPR certification.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform CPR in a kneeling/floor-based position for a minimum of two continuous minutes.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with computer programs for health records management.
Preferred Experience: Experience in school health or pediatric nursing is preferred.
Hourly Rate: $30.00.
Work Schedule: Part-time, 10-month position (typically aligned with the school year).
