Hours: Monday – Friday, 10 am – 6 pm (hybrid – onsite with work from home 1-2 days a week)
Position Overview:
Mid-level system administrator to lead and manage all technical and logistical support for the MFA Design for Social Innovation program. The System Administrator's primary responsibilities are to support hardware and services for the daily operation of the MFA DSI program. Additional responsibilities include managing our website and social media, publishing digital assets and promotional materials, acting as a technical lead on internal projects, and working directly with other SVA departments on larger projects and upgrades.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establish and enforce current technology policies/protocols for the daily operation of the MFA DSI studio and classrooms.
- Serve as a liaison with faculty and students regarding classroom technology needs, and procedures.
- Maintain technology, digital assets, and online platforms (Dropbox, Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, and LastPass), including upgrades, checkout system, and studio key card access for staff, faculty and students.
- Self-direct research, improvements, and purchase tech equipment for MFA DSI.
- Offer workshops/training to MFA DSI community on software and hardware topics, promoting a more effective use of studio equipment and efficient working environment.
- Provide technical support and coordination of events and promotion (Information Sessions, Open House, Special Lectures/Webinars, Thesis Show, Announcements, Newsletters, etc.)
- Maintain an organized, clean, and innovative studio/classroom environment in collaboration with the office staff.
- Work with SVA's Administrative Network Services, Security, Physical Plant +Purchasing, and Office of Learning Technologies to ensure technology is operating properly.
- Use Jamf to maintain and configure the MacOS servers and desktops to host student logins, network access, and archives.
- Perform hardware/software installation – help students/faculty with problems and questions.
- Support/configure departmental A/V systems (Extron system, Apple TV, projectors).
- Create and maintain no-code automations in products like Zapier
- Maintain systems for classrooms (Canvas), virtual conferencing, and recording lectures.
- Responsible for MFA DSI manuals, updates, books, warranties & repair records, inventories of hardware/software, and back-up databases.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and interface with IT for troubleshooting.
- Manage and maintain MFA DSI website and social media accounts
- Work with designers, consultants, student workers and supervise media uploads.
- Summarize and analyze insights from Google Analytics and online spaces.
- Support innovative program outreach through digital platforms (i.e., digital content, newsletters, videos, events, and orientations).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional training or experience (3 years or more)
- Expert knowledge of Mac OSX / macOS Desktop. Familiarity with MacOS Server 10.10 or higher (or related services).
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot software and hardware issues (A/V issues with projectors and video sources) a must.
- Ability to navigate and configure enterprise-level systems. Jamf Certification a plus.
- Operational knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and WordPress. Fundamental knowledge of web scripting languages (HTML, Javascript, CSS).
- Effective time management skills and solution-oriented thinking. Must have an eye for detail and be able to work independently.
- Must be collaborative in translating technology issues. Must be proactive in driving solutions.
- Display diplomacy, professionalism, and respectful interaction when working with students, staff, and faculty online, over the phone, and in person.
- Experience with editing software (Apple Final Cut Pro/X; Premiere Pro) a plus.
- Experience working in a studio is a plus, such as design or creative production background and knowledge of technology trends and innovations in design/art.
- Familiarity with social innovation and alignment with MFA DSI values and SVA mission.
