We currently have a need for legal assistants in our Houston office. Tasks for this position include (but of course aren't limited to):

• Prepare documents by transcribing, formatting, inputting editing, retrieving, copying, printing text, data and graphics using office software.
• Preparing and coordinating e-filings in state and federal court
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes and scanned documents
• Maintain and update daily calendar for assigned attorneys including but not limited to, scheduling appointments, meetings and travel arrangements for cases (marketing travel is handled separately)
• Open and close files and assist with conflict checks
• Support attorneys with timesheets as well as time entry
• Ensures documents are saved and filed appropriately in the firm's document management system

Successful candidates will have:

• Five + years legal experience
• Regular, consistent attendance
• Knowledge of legal practices, terminology documents and court procedures
• Maintain a good working rapport with clients as well as colleagues
• Strong knowledge and ability to apply office software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
