Electrical Estimator/Project Manager (Lodi, CA)
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Commercial & Industrial Electrical Estimator. This position requires Industrial experience. INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS. This position is available for the quality minded person that has the skill set and experience to prepare and complete bid documents and cost estimates by analyzing RFP packages, customer specifications and project scope requirements.
The Electrical estimator is responsible for reviewing, estimating and preparing electrical quotes and proposals and implementing measures to increase the Company’s effectiveness and efficiency in providing accurate and fast turnaround proposals. The Electrical Estimator will collect and study information, evaluate bid specifications and drawings, to ensure they know what is required to successfully bid and win the project.
At least 5 years experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
Build up cost estimates by analyzing the materials and labor needed to complete the project
Electrical estimating of control systems
Prepare professional and detailed proposals
Request quotes from suppliers for equipment and materials.
identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications
Explain the cost of wasted materials and possible delays in the project
Ability to prepare detailed estimates and, as the design evolves, develop variance summaries between estimates.
Track market prices for construction costs, equipment, material and labor
Anticipates potential problems and is proactive by taking action
Provides viable solutions to increase project profitability
Ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
Will attend manager meetings to discuss bid status, project kick offs and to present/solve problems
Working knowledge of NEC, local contractor laws, and article 24.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Develop relationships with key customer representatives in the bidding process.
Track requests and ensure timely submittal.
Provides monthly estimating reports to upper management.
