Position Summary
The Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining a safe and structured classroom environment, supporting student growth, and ensuring compliance with school policies, TEFA standards, and TAAPS expectations. Teachers play a critical role in student safety, academic progress, and school culture.
Instructional Responsibilities • Plan and deliver instruction aligned with curriculum and student learning needs • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners • Implement accommodations and intervention strategies • Maintain lesson plans and instructional records
Classroom Management & Student Support • Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment • Implement behavior management strategies aligned with school expectations • Support social-emotional development of students • Collaborate with staff on student support plans
Student Safety & Child Protection • Maintain professional boundaries with students at all times • Never engage in unsupervised one-on-one interactions unless authorized • Comply with mandatory reporting requirements under Texas Family Code §261 • Immediately report suspected abuse or neglect
Compliance & Documentation • Ensure confidentiality of student information in compliance with FERPA • Support TEFA participation requirements and documentation • Adhere to TAAPS accreditation standards and expectations
Collaboration & Communication • Participate in meetings, conferences, and staff collaboration
Professional Responsibilities • Participate in professional development and training • Demonstrate professionalism in conduct, communication, and appearance • Support school events, activities, and initiatives as required
Technology & Social Media Expectations • Do not post student information or images without written authorization • Use school-approved communication methods only • Maintain appropriate digital boundaries with students
Qualifications Required • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field • Experience working with children • Strong classroom management skills
Preferred • Experience in special education or learning differences • Teaching certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Ability to differentiate instruction • Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively • Commitment to student-centered learning
Work Environment • Classroom setting with active student engagement • May include working with students requiring additional support
