    As the Scientist Outreach Specialist, you will work under the Customer Success department and report to the VP of BD & Customer Success. Your day-to-day will involve independently identifying key skills and expertise required for roles posted on Scismic. You will drive efforts to engage with Scismic's community partners to maximize our reach to a diverse group of scientists and their access to these roles. With the help of our Scientific Outreach Associate, you will review and assess each candidate and their skills and guide them through Scismic’s onboarding process. You will be interfacing with scientists through phone calls, video calls, emails, and job platforms. Each candidate will be guided from start to finish, making sure their Scismic profiles are complete, accurate, and optimized to their selected role. You will design and drive efforts to further automate this process for the team. You will be an important part of our team and will contribute to our weekly and monthly goals. We are looking for an individual who is excited about being a contributing member of our fast-growing team. You must communicate well, be passionate about helping others, be passionate about the sciences, and want to help foster innovation in the science ecosystem.

    In this role, you will be given a broad perspective of how the life science ecosystem works. You will also learn about the various career opportunities in biotechnology.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    OPTIMIZE OUTREACH EFFICIENCY TO SCIENTISTS

    • Be familiar with the current jobs, their requirements, and pending deadlines
    • Identify key skills and fields required for roles on Scismic
    • Develop new strategies to expand outreach to scientists
    • Meet project deadlines and act with sense of urgency in responding to our scientists

    ESTABLISH AND FOSTER COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

    • Identify potential partners
    • Support the design and execution of career development programming
    • Identify key knowledge-gaps within the community

    ANALYZE DATA AND GENERATE REPORTS

    • Generate and maintain weekly/monthly reports on Excel/Google Sheets
    • Develop proposals/strategies based on analyses
    • Communicate ideas, rationale, proposed strategies in a data-driven fashion

    PERFORM OTHER SUPPORT AND OPERATIONS TASKS AS NEEDED

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in the life sciences
    • 1+ years experience in a scientific research lab
    • Enjoys speaking on the phone with drive to meet and interact with new people
    • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and GSuite, with ability to perform basic analyses on Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Analytical mindset

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Proactive problem solving skills, with ability to identify problems and troubleshoot
    • Prior customer service experience

    This role is 40 hours/week, which includes some weekends.
