As a general manager (“GM”), you’ll enjoy the journey of building an extraordinary team and culture, creating unforgettable client experiences, and being recognized as a leader in the local community. And even better, you’ll work directly alongside the market’s franchisee in building a local portfolio of successful shops.
As an integral part of the S&S team, you will:
Provide a best-in-class customer experience;
Lead and motivate a talented and passionate team;
Build an amazing culture that’s centered around our core values;
Plan, communicate and delegate daily responsibilities across your team;
Serve as a resource for your team, providing expertise on processes and policies;
Engage with customers and gather feedback to identify issues, concerns and opportunities for improvement;
Review financial performance, setting budgets and targets along the way;
Provide coaching and feedback to shop employee, helping every individually grow, both personally and professionally;
Set individual and team goals, stopping to recognize milestones and celebrate small wins;
Challenge and inspire your team to push their limits;
Assist the franchisee(s) in growth strategy and execution;
Have fun and grow as a leader!
We’re after someone who has:
High emotional intelligence and an interest in coaching and mentoring because to us people always come first; Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
Experience in delegation, holding others accountable, making difficult decisions, and communicating across a group of employees;
A track record of maximizing results through motivational leadership and management of others;
Expertise in hiring, training and overseeing a large staff;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
A self-starter mentality, with the ability to exercise independent judgment;
An optimistic and growth-minded outlook!
We’d love to hear from people with:
5+ years of retail or relevant store management experience;
Familiarity with business financials and back-end operations;
5+ years of management experience leading a team of 20 or more, including recruiting, training and coaching;
3+ years of experience in a customer service (or similar) role;
A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
The ability to work full-time, including variable hours and potentially early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays. We work hardest when our clients need us! For most, that’s outside of the standard 9 to 5 hours.
Prior barbershop/salon experience is not required (but it certainly doesn’t hurt)!
