  • Responsibilities

    Scott Engineering is looking for ambitious and motivated assemblers to join our team. Under close supervision, operates shears, punch press, notchers, saws, and bending equipment to cut and shape structural steel and plastic. Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Moves and prepares structural steel for work. • Measures surfaces to determine the proper length, width, and thickness required for the job. • Operates shear as required for parts fabrication. • Operates punch press to measure and cut square, circular, and other shaped holes. • May operate manual and computerized press brakes to bend corners in sheet metal and back gauges, including making horizontal and vertical adjustments. • May operate notcher to make open or closed cuts for doors, sides, roofs, and small parts. • May operate grinders and cutting torches. • Fabricates plastic barriers using appropriate tools and equipment. • Moves material into proper position. • Cleans and maintains work area. Qualifications: • EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) • EXPERIENCE: One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Compensation: $15 - $17
