Scott Engineering, Inc. is in search of a Shipping and Receiving Clerk with a friendly and positive attitude. who will verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records • Determine method of shipment • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons • Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers • Insert items into containers • Nail covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape • Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers • Post weight and shipping charges, and affixes postage • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages • Route items to departments • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies • Operate Forklift, tier lift truck, or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to the storage work area Qualifications: • 2+ years experience in shipping and receiving • 2+ years experience operating a Forklift • Excellent verbal and communication skills • Excellent customer service skills • Computer Savvy and experience working with Microsoft office • Team playerThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
