    The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the structural design, standardization, and development of Medium Voltage Pad Mount and Overhead rack applications. This role will take pride in ensuring that all components specified are adequately spaced and mounted to satisfy all specified customer requirements and applicable codes. Your duty is to provide an expeditious, custom solution, that satisfies the customer’s needs by any deadline. For this to be accomplished, the following skills and job requirements must not only be performed satisfactorily but with a positive mindset that for our customers, we will do whatever it takes to Power Solutions! Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Review project data and collaborate with Electrical engineers to complete customer approval drawings. • Organize and facilitate design review meetings, to ensure all materials and manufacturing requirements are defined. • Utilize SolidWorks to create department and component drawings, releasing final approvals to the PDM system. • Coordinates with outside parties to obtain seismic certification when required. • Standardize products. • Provide design support for manufacturing issues, new product launches, and technical support on technical issues. • Evaluates and approves design request changes, following internal ECO procedure with final drawing release in Sharepoint. • Lead and support various cost reductions, R&D activity, and other company initiatives. Qualifications: • Exhibits good listening and comprehension skills, and can clearly communicate and express ideas, internally and externally. • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and effectively with others • Appropriately selects and uses correct communication methods, to keep others adequately informed in a positive manner. • Possess basic skills in using 3-D Modeling Software: Experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks a plus. • PDM or other product data management. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook. • Exposure and knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), Utility Electric Service Requirements (ESR), ANSI C37, and UL. • Ability to promptly respond and resolve any customer issues, while actively seeking feedback to improve service. Compensation: $24 - $27 hourly
