    Scott Engineering, Inc. is in search of a Shipping and Receiving Associate with an enthusiastic attitude who will adapt well to a warehouse environment. This candidate needs to be positive, hardworking and motivated to do whatever it takes to perform their job efficiently. For this role, you will need to verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. • Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records • Determine method of shipment • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons • Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers • Insert items into containers • Nail covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape • Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers • Post weight and shipping charges, and affixes postage • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages • Route items to departments • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications • Assist in maintaining the inventory of shipping materials and supplies • Operate Forklift, tier lift truck, or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to the storage work area • comply with all safety procedures Qualifications: • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment • 2+ years experience in shipping and receiving • 2+ years experience operating a Forklift • Excellent verbal and communication skills • Excellent customer service skills • Computer Savvy and experience working with Microsoft office • Team player WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
