    The CNC Machine Operator produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment and supplies. Punch Plasma machine knowledge. Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. • Operates a computer numerical control (CNC) machine • Understands how to load and unload programs on the machines • Knows what raw materials are in stock, where they are, and what raw material is used for each job • Is forklift certified for loading stock onto the machines • Can read a blueprint and ensure parts are machined to the specifications detailed in the engineering prints and other related documents • Verifies settings by measuring positions, making and checking first-run parts, and sample workpieces • Maintains specifications by observing cutting and punching operations; is able to take measurements and detect malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adheres to quality assurance procedures and processes • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations • Performs daily (and all other scheduled) maintenance on machines Qualifications: • Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following • Oral Communication – Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification and responds well to questions • Teamwork – Balances team and individual responsibilities; contributes to building a positive team spirit; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; supports everyone’s efforts to succeed; recognizes accomplishments of other team members • Quantity – Meets productivity standards; completes work in a timely manner • Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly • Written Communication – Writes clearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written information • Quality Management – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness • Education/Experience – **** High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Language Ability – **** Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
