    Job Summary

    We are seeking a motivated and trustworthy Scrap Metal Buyer to specialize in purchasing aluminum non-ferrous scrap rims. This role combines field-based purchasing, sales negotiation, and logistics coordination. The ideal candidate will have a background in metal commodities, strong sales skills, and a clean driving record. Compensation includes a base salary + commission (tied to purchase volume), with a company-provided van for transportation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Procurement & Sales:

    Source, evaluate, and purchase aluminum non-ferrous scrap rims from suppliers, scrapyards, and other channels.

    Negotiate pricing and terms to maximize profitability while maintaining supplier relationships.

    Meet or exceed monthly purchase targets to earn commission incentives.

    Logistics & Operations:

    Drive a company-provided van to collect purchased materials within a designated region.

    Safely handle, load, and transport scrap rims.

    Financial Accountability:

    Manage cash transactions responsibly and maintain accurate records of purchases.

    Submit daily reports on transactions, inventory, and expenses.

    Compliance & Safety:

    Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and legal regulations for scrap metal handling.

    Ensure proper documentation for all transactions.

    Qualifications

    Experience:

    1+ years in the metal industry (scrap metal, recycling, or manufacturing preferred).

    Sales, purchasing, or commission-driven roles (e.g., automotive, construction, recycling).

    Skills:

    Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.

    Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    Physically capable of lifting/moving heavy materials (50+ lbs).

    Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory tracking.

    Personal Attributes:

    High integrity and reliability (cash handling requires trustworthiness).

    Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
