Pay: $35-$40 per hour
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist assists in surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, arranging equipment, and helping surgeons during operations. This role ensures a sterile environment and supports the surgical team to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up equipment, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. • Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and managing surgical tools. • Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols. • Monitor and account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies before and after procedures. • Handle and dispose of specimens properly. • Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment as needed. • Assist with patient positioning, draping, and preparation for surgery. • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations. • Participate in emergency situations and respond appropriately. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical techniques and advancements.
Qualifications:
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program. • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or required based on state regulations. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. • Previous experience in a surgical setting preferred. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
