As a company of experts for wet-chemical surface treatment S.E.A. is engaged in photovoltaic, semiconductor, PCB, and glass industries. S.E.A. builds high-end production machines that can treat various substrates – as they are used in the mass production of solar cells, glass panels, and semiconductor devices – with chemistries for cleaning, etching or electrochemical deposition.     This position has a flexible start date with up to 3 months of initial training at our branches in Korea and/or Malaysia. Travel expenses and accommodations will be paid by company for training period. Applicants must have a valid US passport and the willingness/availability to travel overseas.

    The key responsibility of the Support Engineer I position is to support the US Global Customer Service department through a combination of back-office and field work in an industrial environment. The Support Engineer I will work in partnership with overseas design teams to facilitate improved customer quote and tool modification processes in the US. Additionally, the Support Engineer I will learn basic field service functions to provide hands-on assistance for installation and service work on our high-volume wet chemical process tools for solar panel and semiconductor manufacturing. Semiconductor environments will require clean room procedures.

    This is an entry-level position that requires initiative with a strong desire to learn in the areas of design, electrical, and mechanical engineering. Education and/or basic experience in one or more of those areas of engineering is required. THIS IS NOT A SOFTWARE/IT/NETWORKING POSITION.

    Responsibilities

    Quoting and documenting modifications to company’s products using sound engineering principles and practices.

    Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives including timely development of drawings, bill of materials, instructions, etc. meeting the company and customer design standards.

    Performs analysis of designs to ensure that all internal and external standards are met including calculations, forces and loads.

    Assist in developing and maintaining company design standards to streamline the engineering process for each project.

    Evaluating current designs for cost-cutting and implementing easier or more efficient manufacturing methods.

    Performing calculations to support proper material sizing and selection.

    Assisting with materials pricing, vendor selection, and project estimating as well as customer quoting.

    Creating 2D and 3D models and drawings using Solidworks or CAD software.

    Assist with electrical and mechanical installation and maintenance of S.E.A. machinery and/or retrofits on-site at our client location.

    Assist with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of our machinery.

    Provide technical support and advice for US GCS teams.

    Acting as interface between overseas design teams and US GCS teams.

    Expediently escalate issues to supporting resources when necessary.

    Work with project management, customer, and field engineers in isolating and solving problems.

    Answer questions and customers in a professional manner.

    Perform administrative and coordination duties in support of the US GCS teams.

    Provide support to various S.E.A. locations (up to 40% travel).

    Required Skills

    Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.

    Ability to design using computer aided, CAD, 3D, preferred Solidworks.

    Ability to perform effectively in a demanding and ever-changing environment.

    Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

    Understand and use of safe work practices. (Must have OSHA 10 General Industry or complete after hire.)

    Time management skills, ability to work to deadlines.

    Clear and effective English verbal and written communication skills.

    Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.

    Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.

    Willingness to continue learning and growing in a professional environment.

    Education & Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in design, electrical, mechanical or other relevant engineering field.

    Experience or education in PV or Semiconductor ideal.

    Experience or education in plastic fabrication ideal.

    Mechanical aptitude required. Knowledge of robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and relevant software preferred.

    Demonstrated experience using computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.

    Standard work hours – Monday through Friday, 8-10 hours each day. Additional hours as project requires.

    Travel up to 40% of the time, dependent on company needs, and may include international travel for training on S.E.A.’s products and processes.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

    Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

    The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds in weight unaided.

    Work is often conducted at a customer site and requires familiarization with customer rules and policies regarding worksite behaviour and safety.

    Expect to spend more than 50% of the time inside the factory working with S.E.A. equipment.

    Position works under the direction of a manager, and in close alignment with Field Service Site Lead.

    Driver's License and passport required for this position.

    Schedule

    Monday to Friday

    40+ hours weekly, as projects require.

    Pay

    Annual Salary: $62,000 - $70,000 DOE

    Generous annual bonus program

    Bi-weekly direct deposit via ADP.
