  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

     

    The ROV Tooling Technician will work within a small and dedicated team responsible for support, operation, and maintenance of Offshore ROV tooling equipment and associated tooling technology. The offshore position reports to the Offshore Vessel Manager and the Line Management onboard.  

    • The primary role of the ROV Tooling Tech is to operate, maintain / repair, rebuild, and prepare the SBGS ROV Tools and Tooling packages for use in the deployment operations of Subsea nodes for Seismic survey.  

    • The ROV Tooling Tech shall be responsible for conducting post-job assessment of assigned tooling to include any requirement for spares, reporting damage or loss, and consumable needs. 

    • The ROV Tooling Tech will be responsible for maintaining the tooling packages in a state of operational readiness for subsequent projects. 

    • Must be able to set up and function test ROV tooling and tooling packages while assisting in their integration into the current markets Work Class ROV systems. 

    • Must be able to efficiently and effectively perform post job analysis and fault finding. 

    • Will be required to attend and assist in ROV Tooling FAT as an SBGS representitive, attending both dockside or sea trials which may be in conjuction with Project and Technical support teams. 

    • Able to perform general and preventative system maintenance 

    • Able to perform inventory management to include critical spares levels

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • High school Diploma is required, Technical or Trade school is a plus, Higher University education is exceptional 

    • Candidates must be capable of basic mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting techniques 

    • Candidates should possess the ability to understand detailed engineered drawings including hydraulic and basic electrical schematics 

    • Knowledge of electronics is advantageous but not essential 

    • Candidate must have experience working with Work Class ROV systems and Subsea Tooling 

    • Experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of hydraulic power units and hydraulic testing equipment 

    • Knowledge of FCV, XLX, HD, UHD, Innovator ROVs is advantageous
