    Job Summary

    We are seeking a proactive and versatile Controller to lead our financial operations as we continue to scale. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and driven individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to take on multiple responsibilities within the finance arena. This will include the analysis, assessment, and negotiation of acquisitions. This role will not be dedicated to only SealMaster, as we grow, the companies and responsibilities of this role will grow as well. This role is great for someone who has been in finance and accounting, who has a great understanding of business, and who is look to make a jump to the next level of their career.

    In this role, you will monitor the company’s financial status and accounting policies, review budgets, and ensure payments are submitted in a timely fashion. This essential position ensures our company is compliant with all accounting regulations, mitigates risks, and maximizes profits.

    Responsibilities

    Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

    Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, work closely with department heads to monitor performance against budget, and provide regular forecasts.
    
    Cash Management: Oversee cash flow, optimize cash reserves, and manage banking relationships.
    
     Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
    
     Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, and internal policies.
    
     Tax Planning and Compliance: Collaborate with external tax advisors and manage all aspects of tax planning and compliance.
    
     Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve cost efficiencies.
    
     Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes and systems for maximum efficiency and accuracy.
    
     Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team.
    

    Ad-hoc Projects: Assist with special projects as needed, contributing your financial expertise to company-wide initiatives.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

    5+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

    Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting.

    Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

    Proficiency in financial software; Sage 100 experience preferred.

    Advanced MS Excel skills, with some database experience preferred.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team with great communication and interpersonal skills

    Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills

    Comfortable wearing multiple hats and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
