The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the payment function, including directing staff in processing payments ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, performing requisite month end close activities, and providing issue resolution and technical guidance. Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate records and control reports. Supervise the administering of the purchasing card program.
Responsibilities:
Supervise a staff of approximately 5 specialists, while monitoring their productivity to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, and balances resources to meet changes in workload demands
Supervise the regular monitoring accounts payable metrics, as determined by management as a means to measure the effectiveness of the Accounts Payable processes
Close and reconcile all A/P related GL accounts on timely basis at month end
Supervise the corporate credit card program
Review aging report to determine Days Payable Outstanding trends and appropriate pursuit of overpaid accounts
Support system application upgrades or new system implementation
Liaison with IT to test reports or system functionality to enhance or create efficient processes
Perform various personnel functions including but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and vacation schedules
Engage with auditors to ensure compliance with internal controls
Requirements:
Strong organization and problem solving skills
Must effectively interact with a variety of internal and external customers
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
5 plus years of accounts payable leadership experience in a high volume AP environment.
Payables imaging systems experience.
Understanding of workflow of treasury processes.
