    Seasonal Counter + Sandwich Staff - Flour Boston Common

    If so, we have the opportunity for you! Flour Bakery + Cafe at Boston Common is looking for exceptional seasonal counter staff/sandwich makers for full and part-time positions!

    The position duties include greeting and assisting guests, assembling pastry orders, preparing coffee and espresso drinks, performing cleaning tasks, delivering food to tables, and helping prepare sandwiches with speed and accuracy, among other responsibilities - all while displaying an exceptional sense of hospitality to our guests.

    This position is seasonal for the Flour Boston Common 2026 season. Dates of employment will be 3/22/2026 until 10/31/2026.

    Day-to-day Performance Expectations:

    Must be able to deliver consistently great hospitality:

    Engage our guests at Flour by greeting them, smiling, treating them with kindness, directing them through the order process, and finding the correct answers to any of their questions

    Applicants must be enthusiastic, hard-working, possess strong guest service skills, eager to learn, and be able to work in a professional kitchen environment.

    Follow assembly instructions and recipes accurately and thoroughly to ensure each menu item is consistently delicious.

    Must be flexible with scheduling and hours. Our business is both weather and event dependent. We will close as late as 10pm during the summer.

    Skills for Qualification:

    Must have scheduling availability to work at least 3-4 shifts a week, including at least 1 weekend day, and 1-2 closing shifts per week.

    Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs.

    Ability to operate equipment such as a cash register, coffee and espresso machinery, grinders, ovens, etc.

    Must be able to maintain grooming and uniform standards

    Excellent sense of urgency and hospitality

    Ability to recognize when and where help is needed

    Ability to take feedback and direction

    Willingness to work in a team and help all other departments, as needed

    Compensation:

    This position has an average starting compensation of $20-$24 per hour (base wage of $15 + $5-9 per hour in pooled tips). The starting pay rate for this position is $15, but the total pay range is $15-$19.32.

    Physical Requirements:

    Be prepared to be on your feet all day. This is a physically active role.

    Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs.

    Ability to operate equipment such as an espresso machine, cash register, ovens, grills, knives and other kitchen equipment and utensils

    Work Environment:

    Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises, machinery, and at times, tight spaces.

    Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures (at times, you could be in a freezer and/or hot kitchens, etc.)

    We do our best not to cross-contaminate anything containing gluten. However, there may be gluten in the air at times. We do our best to accommodate any staff allergy requests.
