    Seasonal Cultivation Associate

Season: Late May through Fall Harvest

    About the Role

We are an outdoor cannabis cultivation operation in the hilltowns of western Massachusetts looking for two Seasonal Cultivation Associates to join our small farm team. This is real farming. If you have experience working the land, understand the physical demands that come with outdoor agriculture, and want to apply that to cannabis, this is the role for you.

The schedule will start at approximately three days per week and flex up based on the needs of the growing season. Some weeks will be heavy. Some will pull back. You need to be comfortable with that rhythm and motivated enough to want the hours when they are there. This role is plant-touching and will require a Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) agent badge.

    What You'll Do

    • Work alongside the Head Cultivator through all phases of the outdoor growing season including soil preparation, planting, plant maintenance, training, pest scouting, irrigation, and harvest
    • Perform physical farm labor including raking, weeding, hauling soil and amendments, setting up field infrastructure, and general site maintenance
    • Follow direction on plant care techniques specific to outdoor cannabis cultivation
    • Monitor plants for signs of stress, pests, mold, or environmental issues and communicate observations to the Head Cultivator
    • Assist with harvest operations including cutting, hanging, drying, and processing flower
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment in accordance with CCC regulations
    • Accurately log work activities and any plant observations as needed for compliance and record-keeping
    • Be flexible and responsive to weather-driven schedule changes (this is outdoor farming, the weather dictates the work)

    What We're Looking For

    • Genuine interest in and respect for the physical demands of farming. This is hands-in-the-dirt, sun-on-your-back work
    • Prior experience in agriculture, horticulture, landscaping, or outdoor cannabis cultivation preferred
    • Reliability above all else. We are a small team and we need people who show up when they say they will
    • Comfort with a variable schedule that fluctuates based on the growing season
    • Ability to work independently and take direction well
    • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on your feet for extended periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks in outdoor conditions (heat, rain, insects)
    • Must be able to obtain a Massachusetts CCC agent registration badge (background check required)
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Plainfield farm location

    Nice to Have

    • Previous experience on a cannabis farm, especially outdoor or sun-grown operations
    • Familiarity with organic or regenerative farming practices
    • Knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM) for outdoor crops
    • Existing CCC agent badge

    Compensation

Hourly, commensurate with experience. Schedule begins at approximately three days per week with the potential to increase to full-time hours during peak season.

We are an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
