Seasonal Guest Services Associate – ILUMINA Holiday Event Location: West Palm Beach, FL Status: Part-Time | 16–24 hours per week | Non-Exempt Evening & Weekend Availability Required (5:00–11:00 p.m.)
About Mounts Botanical Garden
Mounts Botanical Garden (MBG) is Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest public garden—20 acres of lush, tropical landscapes that inspire and educate through nature. This winter, MBG will sparkle with ILUMINA – A Garden Lantern Festival, a spectacular new holiday experience running November 2025 through January 2026.
Our Guest Services team plays a key role in welcoming visitors to this immersive event, helping every guest enjoy a magical evening in the Garden.
Position Overview
The Seasonal Guest Services Associate provides exceptional frontline service in the Welcome Center and Garden Shop during ILUMINA. This position involves guest check-in, ticketing, membership sales, retail support, and general event assistance. Ideal candidates are friendly, reliable, and enjoy interacting with people in a fun, festive environment.
Responsibilities
Guest Experience
Greet and assist guests with a warm, professional attitude.
Process admissions, event tickets, memberships, and retail sales accurately using POS and CRM systems.
Provide information about ILUMINA, MBG events, and Garden memberships.
Handle questions or concerns courteously, referring complex issues to a supervisor.
Retail & Operations
Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining merchandise displays.
Ensure the Welcome Center and Garden Shop remain clean, organized, and guest-ready.
Monitor inventory and report restock needs.
Support daily opening and closing procedures.
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to create a positive team atmosphere.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1–3 years of experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
Experience in cultural, botanical, or nonprofit settings a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, public-facing role.
Able to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in Florida weather.
Basic computer and cash-handling skills required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful but not required.
Working Conditions
Indoor and outdoor work during evening hours in a festive lighted environment.
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Required to wear branded Garden apparel provided by MBG; dressier attire may be required for special events.
Schedule & Compensation
Part-Time (16–24 hours/week)
Evening and weekend availability required
Competitive hourly rate based on experience
