    Seasonal Entry-Level Welder Job Description

    Position Overview

    The Entry-Level Welder is a seasonal, full-time hourly position responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through basic welding, fabrication, and assembly tasks. This role is designed for individuals early in their welding career who are eager to develop hands-on skills in a production environment. The position is expected to last approximately six (6) months, with the potential for extension based on business needs and individual performance.

    Employment Details

    • Employment Type: Seasonal, Full-Time, Hourly
    • Expected Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension contingent on performance and operational requirements)
    • Schedule: Full-time hours; overtime may be required based on production demand

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform basic welding operations (such as MIG, TIG, or spot welding) under supervision and according to established procedures.
    • Assist with fabrication, fitting, and assembly of metal components and structures.
    • Read and follow work instructions, shop drawings, and basic blueprints.
    • Prepare materials for welding, including measuring, cutting, cleaning, and positioning components.
    • Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
    • Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
    • Follow all company quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
    • Support team members and supervisors with additional production tasks as needed.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Technical school coursework, certification, or training in welding is preferred but not required.
    • Basic knowledge of welding principles, tools, and safety practices.
    • Ability to learn and follow standardized work instructions.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Dependable attendance and willingness to work a full-time seasonal assignment.
    • Ability to work overtime as required.

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements

    • Work is performed in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
    • Regular exposure to noise, heat, and welding fumes (appropriate PPE provided).
    • Requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions.
    • Ability to lift, push, or carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination required.
    • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

    Schedule & Compensation Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

    Compensation starting at $20.00-$25.00
