    Job Summary:

    Seasun Games is seeking an experienced Shading Technical Artist to work closely with Art and Engineering to create advanced tools and technologies for the renowned MMORPG JX3 and other Seasun projects on multiple platforms. Our U.S. studio in Redwood City, CA comprises a group of games industry veterans with the mission to create top notch technologies for AAA titles development.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create translucent effect on clothing materials with real time ray tracing technology
    • Develop procedural decals generation and placement tools for environment artists
    • Research different techniques for semi procedural model and material generation of waterfall, river, etc. and improve the effect
    • Support the art team with requests for shader changes (more advanced controls, better blend methods, etc)
    • Create tools to improve the artists' efficiency, and support third-party tools
    • Develop user-friendly features, both for the game engine and for tools/asset pipelines
    • Help the team develop workflows and standards for efficient content generation
    • Ensure shader and material quality to be pushed to the highest level
    • Explore new techniques and processes to solve technical art challenges
    • Create technical prototypes and mock-ups that the art team can use as examples

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 2+ years of AAA game development experience with 2+ titles shipped on PC or console
    • Intermediate programming experience with shading languages (HLSL/CG/Etc.)
    • Experience in other programming/scripting languages (Python/C#/Qt/Etc.)
    • Deep knowledge of PBR, Maya, 3D Studio Max, Substance
    • High level of comfort and familiarity with version control and asset management solutions, every aspect of game development, and how different disciplines collaborate
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Experience setting up production pipelines, while being able to follow guidelines
    • Bachelor's degree in Entertainment Technology, Digital Animation, Game Development and Programming, or any related fields
