    General Summary

     

    Designs, develops, troubleshoots and analyzes software programs for computer-based systems.

     

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

     

    • Designs, develops, tests and implements software programs *
    • Analyzes user’s software program needs and assists in troubleshooting *
    • Design and develops software using basic compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems *
    • Performs systems modeling, simulation and analysis *
    • May advise hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems
    • May provide input for documentation of new or existing programs

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Bachelors’ degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or other related field or equivalent
    • Minimum of 2 years applicable software design engineering experience
    • Ability to use desktop applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
    • Working knowledge of current operating systems and programming languages
    • Experience in web technologies (HTML or HTML5)
    • Experience in front-end technologies (JavaScript, AngularJS, Vue.js, or Typescript)
    • Experience in front-end styling technologies (CSS, SCSS, SASS, Grunt, or Bootstrap)
    • U.S. Citizenship
    • Must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Clearance

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or etc.)
    • Experience in source repositories (Git, Bitbucket or Perforce)
    • Experience in Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
    • Experience with build/deploy libraries like webpack and Babel
    • Experience using container technologies (Docker)
    • Experience using GUI frameworks like Vuetify

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

     

    • Demonstrate general knowledge of diesel engine operation, maintenance and repair.
    • Demonstrate the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
    • Demonstrate the ability to operate the specific tools used in the area of expertise, including related tools and equipment such as common hand and power tools, hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist with operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing the following systems/equipment:
      • Stationary diesel engines
      • Fuel filtration systems
      • Fuel transfer systems
      • Related alarm systems
